For the 5th year in a row ‘123456’ has topped the list as the most popular password. And ‘password’ has come in next.
They’re AWFUL passwords!
Don’t put yourself at risk for the sake for a bit of memory simplicity. If a password is easy to remember, it’s probably easy to hack.
New entries
SplashData has assembled a list of the worst passwords of 2015. This year has seen a bunch of new entries on the top 25 list inspired Star Wars; ‘solo’, ‘princess’ and ‘starwars’.
Ditch this list and get yourself better passwords. Try these tricks:
- Try for passwords at least 12 characters long. Mix it up with numbers, symbols and characters.
- Don’t reuse your passwords. Unique passwords are the key to not getting caught with your pants down.
- Keep your passwords in a password manager like TeamsID or Keepass.
